5 to die
Published in Unknown Binding by Holloway House ()
Author: Jerry Le Blanc
Average review score:

Rare material makes it worth seeking out
The manson family story told in simple, easy to read style, though of course its not as in depth as''THE FAMILY'' BY ED SANDERS OR ''HELTER-SKELTER '' BY BUGLIOSI& GENTRY...........I've known copies of this to sell for quite a bit of change........but,true Manson buffs will love this because of its truly obscure photos[which ive never seen anywhere else]..........all in all, a refreshing change from the other books out on this subject, with a ''just the facts'' style that has been difficult to find since 1970 in probably the most bizarre and controversial murders ever commited.

captures the feel of the big game
having been to a couple of usc-ucla games i can tell you that springer and arkush have researched their topic well. from frank gifford to jackie robinson all the way to charles white and troy aikman this book is full of good interviews and insights into the best rivalry in college football.
they get the atmosphere right and being L.A. sportwriters they know what the fans want.
the usc-ucla game is a special game especially in person, there is nothing like it.

Above San Diego: A New Collection of Historical and Original Aerial Photographs of San Diego
Published in Hardcover by Cameron & Co (January, 1991)
Authors: Robert Cameron and Neil Morgan
Average review score:

This book is great!
I first saw this book at my mother-in-law's house and just loved it. I grew up in San Diego and it was fascinating to see the before and after photographs of places where I grew up. The book is full of great photographs and interesting historical text to go with it.

Above Yosemite
Published in Hardcover by Cameron & Co (December, 1983)
Authors: Robert Cameron and Harold Gilliam
Average review score:

Above The Rest
A great book detailing a lot about natural history and presenting views seldom seen of the park. One minor complaint is that some of the spectacular features of the park look very tiny from the air and hard to pick out. Still, Cameron takes pictures of familiar sights from unfamiliar angles which are continuously refreshing. Gilliam's text is very informative (a dam above Nevada Falls?) and presents a lot of new insights on the park. Must have book for lovers of the Above... series and Yosemite-philes.

Access to Higher Education in Germany and California
Published in Paperback by Peter Lang Publishing (November, 2001)
Author: Daniel J. Guhr
Average review score:

Buy this book!
Daniel Guhr has done an outstanding job of making a difficult subject interesting in this eminently readable new book. Access to higher education is a critical issue, and the conclusions drawn by Dr. Guhr are important for anyone interested in social policy -- indeed, in the future of this and other countries -- to understand. This book is a must-read for a wide range of people. Do yourself a favor: pick it up, read it, and start thinking about who has access to higher education, why, and what that means for our future.

Captivating fantasy with a gay twist!
A captivating fantasy of time travel, with a gay romance as a new twist. A cross between LOST HORIZON and SOMEWHERE IN TIME. Very readable prose, likable characters and a clever plot. A good read!

The Adobes of Twentynine Palms
Compacted in just 137 pages is a treasury of not only the art of building adobes, but of lifestyles that were chosen and endured by early homesteaders and settlers of the high desert. Each adobe is pictured and described in great detail and many, to this day, still stand. Historical, factual and delightful, one should read this book with a map of Twentynine Palms in hand.

I am inlove with this state, and I love adventure as well, so why not... I'm 14 years old and I collect travel books, I travel a lot and want to see everything there possibly is to see out in the world. This book is not only a good guide, it's fun to read as well. I recommend it to anyone considering a trip to the wildest state in the country.
